Kalbarri – Home!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

Yesterday morning we packed up for the final time and hit the road. Everyone was so eager to get home that we barely stopped on our way 😀 We left Kalbarri just after 8:30am, admired Pink Lake on the way past Port Gregory then kept on trucking all the way to Geraldton. At Geraldton, we stopped for a quick wee break and to fill up the car (and for “G”‘s coffee of course!) and hit the road again.

Our next stop was Eneabba, only because toilets were required. Sadly the public toilets had been vandalised by the local kids and toilet paper was absolutely everywhere!!! We picked up some chips for “lunch”, even though hot chips were the last thing any of us wanted to see again!! The drive home was pretty smooth, lots of traffic on the road mainly heading north which made overtaking sometimes a bit challenging and quite a bit of rain in patches but apart from that it was an easy, almost 6hr, drive home.

We arrived at our house around 3pm and started the unenviable task of unpacking the car. “R” got out of the car and hugged the garage wall and “L” went for a run up and down the hallway to celebrate being home.

Once unpacked, a load of washing on and showers that were sooooooo nice, we headed off to Nan and Gramps’ house for dinner. So many veggies which we were all craving were greatly devoured and we had the best meal we’ve had in months and a lovely evening catching up. Back home and it was straight into our OWN beds again .. bliss!!
