We didn’t get going until quite late (for us anyway) today. After breakfast and packing up the car, we headed back into town to hand back our keys, then went looking for the last sculpture from the Sculptures on the Marsh that we missed yesterday. Google did us well, as it was indeed on the opposite side of town but we found her in the end.

After checking out the final sculpture, we stopped at a coffee van for “G” and the BP for Katie before finally hitting the highway. A fairly uneventful drive, with a stop at Roebuck Roadhouse which looks like a pretty cool little spot to stay for a night with a very interesting wall of number plates.

On the road again and past the biggest herd of cows we’ve ever seen in our lives. Our next stop was Sandfire Roadhouse for another top-up for Katie – fuel stations are few and far between out in the outback so we often fill up whenever we come across one even if we still have half a tank left. Not too far after Sandfire was our turnoff for the Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park which is about 10km down a dirt road but a relatively smooth one.
Once checked in to our cabin which is old but nice, we headed to the beach. A nice long walk to stretch everyone’s legs after a long day in the car and we even got to see a guy catch a shark!!

We walked back along the beach and sat down for a while to watch the sunset which was beautiful. A short walk back to the caravan park and it happened to be burger night so we had to indulge in one of those and an icecream before retreating to our cabin for the night.

Beautiful sunset photo. Looks like the sun left a bit of itself on the beach!😀
