We left Litchfield with the hope that we would be able to stop in at Douglas Hot Springs on our way to Katherine but alas, the hot springs are closed due to ongoing problems with the ageing bore 🙁 Needless to say, it was rather a quick trip to Katherine with not a lot else to see on the way.
We arrived around midday and were lucky enough to be able to check into our accommodation early. We have an elevated cabin, which fits our car underneath, with two bedrooms and a nice open plan living/kitchenette area. After unloading our car, we headed into town to visit the Information Centre and find some lunch.
We had a quick look around the Visitor Centre before heading to the local RSL for lunch which was yummy. After lunch we headed to the supermarket to pick up some supplies so that we can cook dinner while we are in Katherine. We booked a cruise up Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge for tomorrow morning and had a nice relax back at our cabin for the afternoon with an obligatory visit to the park pool.
This evening we are settling in for homecooked pasta for dinner and no doubt an early night.
