After a big sleep in, we hit Florence Falls for the morning. Being a Saturday, it was a bit busier than yesterday afternoon but still as enjoyable. We spent several hours swimming, playing under the waterfall and snorkeling to look at the fish. Unfortunately, later in the morning some ‘young adult males’ full of bravado decided it was time to start jumping off the top of the cliff into the water below. Although we know they were having a great time, it meant that a whole section of the water was virtually unusable by anyone else as you risked being accidentally jumped on. As we left the falls this time we opted not to take the shorter but 135 step route to the carpark, but the longer and much more scenic route which was a nice change.

At around midday we called it quits and decided to head for the Butterfly Farm for lunch and a look at the butterflies and other animals. The saying “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover” certainly does not apply here – first impressions last!! The butterfly farm and animal farm wasn’t great and we felt a lot dirtier after we left than we did going in. The boys did however enjoy feeding the bunnies.
We ate lunch which for “G” and “A” were “burgers” which were far too big to fit in anyone’s mouth, the sheer size of the slices of bread were enough let alone any filling, so they were eaten deconstructed with a knife and fork instead. The boys had toasted sandwiches which were good. We made a hasty exit once done. One thing going for the place is the owner Chris who reminds you a little of Trevor from the Marvel movies, a very eccentric character who had more than a story or two to tell. If my raving review of the Butterfly Farm isn’t enough to turn you off visiting then let me be 100% clear as there is also accommodation which you can stay at – we would NOT recommend!

Back to our apartment for a relaxing afternoon by the pool with the adults reading books whilst the kiddies had a great time playing and practicing their diving. We headed to the restaurant for dinner and the boys both had salmon, “G” a pizza and “A” the ribs before heading back to our apartment to watch a movie. “L” wasn’t a fan of his salmon at all, saying it was very salty and herby … little did we know at that point that he was likely eating off fish as later that night he was up vomiting several times which made him feel much better! Thankfully it didn’t last throughout the night!
