A little bit of a disappointing start to the day as we tried to go on the ferris wheel at the Darwin Waterfront but it was closed for some maintenance 🙁 Off we headed to Crocodylus Park which is just a short drive out of Darwin.
Crocodylus Park was lots of fun with lots of different animals to look at, a heap of crocs to feed and some snakes to hold. In addition, we went on a boat cruise of their man-made river/lake which houses 40 “naughty” salt water crocodiles, ones that have been removed from rivers/waterholes because they’ve eaten livestock or have become a threat to humans. Wasn’t the most settling feeling to know that little fact. We watched them leap out of the water right next to the boat to get fed which was pretty cool though I think “R” was a little concerned just how close he was to one.

Back on the road and we made a bee-line for Berry Springs Tavern for lunch. Really, really delicious food had by all and even though we were feeling very full, we still ventured on to Berry Springs for a dip. The water was absolutely delightful and just the right temperature. We had a swim around with lots of fish and a little duck under the waterfall, trying desperately to not lose our bathers in the process. We stayed at Berry Springs for a couple of hours before deciding we really better get back on the road to our final destination, Litchfield Outback Resort where we are staying for the next couple of nights.

On arrival at the resort, we checked into our “apartment” which is quite nice and spacious and has been updated recently. As soon as we were all unpacked, the boys decided it was time to get back in the water so we hit the pool. After a bit of a swim, we jumped out, showered etc and went to the restaurant for dinner which was quite nice though no-one was overly hungry after our big lunches! After dinner, it was movie and relax time back in our room.
