Adelaide & Glenelg

We had the best morning today, catching up with a dear friend Jane and her beautiful kids. We spent the morning in the Adelaide parklands chatting, enjoying the sun and watching the kids play frisbee, ball, football and flying a kite. They all had such fun and we had a great time chatting and catching up, like it was only yesterday that we last saw each other.

After a morning filling our friendship cup, we headed to Glenelg to check out the foreshore and marina. We stopped in at Sammy’s to enjoy lunch by the water with “A” and the boys sharing a Caesar salad and some seafood (King George Whiting for “A” and “R” while “L” took care of the prawns and calamari) and Atlantic Salmon for “G”.

After a walk along the foreshore and around the marina, we headed back into town, once again entrusting our car to the hospital car park. “A” woke in the middle of the night last night in an absolute panic that the pod and contents would be gone in the morning until “G” calmed her down and reminded her that there’s nothing in there that’s sentimental and it can all be purchased again if needed.

After parking the car, we walked back “home” past MOD. where we had to stop in so the boys could show “G” the cool parts and we could all have a go at the facial biometrics. Pleased to report that “A” is now aged 40 and “G” a youthful 46!! We’ll take it!!

After dropping our daypack off at the apartment, we headed across the road to the river so the boys could have a go on Captain Jolley’s Paddleboats as the weather was divine. They had a fun time peddling their little hearts out to cruise around the river for a while before their little legs gave up and they called it a day.

Off to Rundle Mall we went to find the Woolworths and stock up on some supplies including salad and crumbed chicken for dinner. Back at the apartment we settled in for the night and put on yet another load of washing. Think we will have a bit of a home day tomorrow as the weather is looking quite miserable with a thunderstorm expected …. subject to change of course!

  1. Now you’re in my neck of the woods. Don’t you just love those pig statues in Rundle Mall. ?Worked in the Mall which was Rundle street then( same year the Beatles came to Adelaide). Ray’s brother ran the paddle boats on the Torrens, way back before the fibreglass ones .

    • No comment about what year that must have been if the Beatles came to Adelaide 🤪. The statues are awesome, we did try to get the boys to get some good pics with them but they were not in the mood to do anymore after our first ones!!
