Adelaide

This morning we spent a little bit of time on some schoolwork while drinking a berry slushie for “L”, hot chocolate for “R” and coffee for “G” (although “G” didn’t do schoolwork!) before venturing out to have lunch. Our gorgeous friends Joni and Jo invited us to their house for lunch where we got to meet their two adorable little kiddos – I forgot how much energy tiny people have!!!! We had an amazing time catching up and reminiscing as it’s been about 10 years since we last saw each other.

After a long delicious lunch we detoured past our first ever “together home” (rental) in Adelaide and onto the Himeji Gardens in the Parklands. Such a tranquil place, well maybe it would be without certain other people there!! The GARL team understood the sign about people going there to contemplate and enjoy the serenity, however some kids playing a very noisy game of “it” that included a big wrestle at the end clearly did not understand the meaning of the sign.

A drive back through the city and into North Adelaide before attempting to head back to our apartment only to find that North Terrace is completely blocked off due to the AFL match on at Adelaide Oval!! While we were stuck in a gridlock of traffic we pulled alongside another WA plated car and got chatting to the guy driving it – he is making his way very slowly around Aus and has been in Adelaide since December as he found work here. Still hasn’t decided where in the country he will settle yet but does originate from just the next suburb from us in WA, talk about a small world!!

The rest of the evening will be spent having leftovers for dinner and packing up our apartment ready to hit the road in the morning for Kangaroo Island which everyone is very excited about 🙂
