A very, very slow start to the day today. We attempted to get room service for breakfast but that was a fail after waiting an hour and a half only to find out our order still wasn’t on its way, needless to say it was promptly cancelled and back to the trusty Weetbix we went. As the weather wasn’t quite as dire as BoM predicted, we decided to head to the Adelaide Hills for the day.
Our first stop was Hahndorf which was absolutely freezing but the colours of the Autumn leaves made the walk down the main street worth it. We checked out the museum and a few shops, with an obligatory stop at the Hahndorf Sweet Shop of course! Decided to head up the road a little further to the Beerenberg Farm for lunch. “A” had the most delicious burger, “G” the big brekky, “L” a croissant and “R” a strawberry waffle extravaganza. R&L washed their lunch down with a thickshake, which both decided was too much to finish.

After a scrumptious lunch we made a few purchases from the shop before heading on our way. We decided to head to the Big Rocking Horse at Gumeracha which the boys (big and little) climbed to the top as the little two weren’t allowed to go without an adult. We also checked out the toy shop but I think the boys are a bit old to appreciate much in there. As the weather was starting to look a bit grim, we headed back through the windy hills roads thankfully without any travel sickness issues from “R”.

Back at “home” and the boys decided they’d like a swim in the hotel pool so “A” watched them play in the pool while “G” had a little nap. Back to our room again and it was time to settle in for a lazy evening with pasta for dinner and strawberries for dessert, yum!

You should have had some warm Mead in the pub in the main St., in Harndorf, that would have warmed you up. Not the boys of course😊😊👏
So Beerenburg cafe was alright then??!! We haven’t been there yet.
