Darwin (Day 3)

This morning we decided to get a bit of a history lesson so we headed to the RFDS visitor centre on Stokes Hill Wharf which includes a whole section on the WWII bombing of Darwin. There were multiple VR presentations, a couple of movies, a simulation and an RFDS aircraft to walk in and explore. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Darwin.

RFDS New Pilots?

By the time we finished at RFDS, we headed over to the waterfront as there was a very large grey cloud looming so we decided it was best to find a spot under cover for lunch. It absolutely bucketed down for the next hour or so which I think the boys were quick shocked at – welcome to tropical wet weather boys!! We enjoyed shared sliders, tacos and garlic bread for lunch while sitting watching the rain over the Darwin Waterfront area.

As it was a very rainy afternoon, we stayed in the apartment and caught up on lots of schoolwork before heading out to the Trailer Boat Club with Uncle Mark for dinner. If you like garlic then this is the place to go as all of our meals were very garlicky. The sunset was hidden behind the clouds which grew darker and darker with some lightening. Back to the apartment for a relaxing evening tonight.
